A Strong Believer!

Our son Samuel who will be 3 years old in April, is a strong believer that kisses make EVERYTHING better! He is relentless in getting a kiss on a boo boo so it will feel better, no matter what it is! The best story happened a week or two ago...

Sam told Joey that his butt hurt. He said, "kiss it daddy, kiss it!"  So Joey proceeded to kiss his hand and tap his butt with his hand, just to appease him. But that wasn't good enough, nor the correct way.  Sam corrected him and said, "No, like this daddy, with your lips" and showed him the right way to kiss it.  He continued and shouted at him, "Kiss my butt daddy!"

Catch up!

Well, its apparent that I haven't been very successful with this blog so here I am again to attempt it again!  Instead of letting myself be overwhelmed with playing catch up, I'm just going to start again with current things that happen in our life.

Growing up...

You always hear parents say, "Enjoy every moment, they grow up too fast." Well, I've never quite experienced that until tonight. In the first year an infant passes through more milestones then they will for the rest of their life. It's exciting. They are constantly changing. For the last four months I've always found myself excited and anxious for the next milestone, what he'll do next, smile, laugh, reach, sit, eat solids, and so on. But tonight, as I held Samuel in my arms as he fell asleep, I felt for the first time, don't grow up too fast. I wished for that moment to last forever; for his whole body to be wrapped around mine, with both of my arms securing him against me. The words of 'I Am A Child of God' and 'Teach Me to Walk in the Light' came into my mind. I thought maybe if I held him forever and never put him down he wouldn't be able to grow past the depths and strength and love of my arms that encompassed him at that very moment. I thank my Eternal God and Father for the gift Samuel is in our lives. I now know I will NEVER be able to comprehend the love our Father in Heaven has for each of us.

Stick That Tounge Out!

So, today when Samuel first woke up he was in such a great mood (after he ate of course). I got a picture of him on my cell phone sticking his tongue out the most he has ever done. It was so cute. So in this video we were trying to get him to do it again. Luckily we got it right before the memory card filled up.

Wake Up Call...or maybe not!

So when I was a kid I could sleep like a rock. Since I got married, not so much. However, my sisters still believe that I can. Well, Joey has me beat! This morning I ran the water to take a bath, then I scrambled some eggs and the smoke detector went off because of the stuff under the burner, then Samuel woke up screaming, and the baby monitor is in the bedroom. But NO, non of that woke up Joey. Or maybe he heard it and just ignored it! Hmm? The only thing left that did not go off was the dogs, and that's because they were laying in the bed with him!!!! What? They think they can jump in the bed, once I get up? I don't think so! Those naughty boys!

Baby Coos...

So a friend told me I should write this down...You know how a baby's first noises besides crying are called coos? Well, Samuel's are a little different. I call his caws. He sounds more like a crow, 'caw caw' or like a rapter from Jurassic Park, 'arrr, arrr'. It's not as funny in writing as it is orally, but it's still worth jotting down. He's a cutie!

Georgia!

Samuel went on his first road trip to Georgia. We drove 2 1/2 hours to Live Oak, FL to meet up with my mom and Del and hitched a ride with them the rest of the way. Samuel slept the whole time in the car and woke up to eat every time we stopped. It couldn't have been more perfect! He had lots of fun visiting with his aunts, uncles, and cousins. We can't wait till we can see them again!
