Stick That Tounge Out!

So, today when Samuel first woke up he was in such a great mood (after he ate of course). I got a picture of him on my cell phone sticking his tongue out the most he has ever done. It was so cute. So in this video we were trying to get him to do it again. Luckily we got it right before the memory card filled up.

Wake Up Call...or maybe not!

So when I was a kid I could sleep like a rock. Since I got married, not so much. However, my sisters still believe that I can. Well, Joey has me beat! This morning I ran the water to take a bath, then I scrambled some eggs and the smoke detector went off because of the stuff under the burner, then Samuel woke up screaming, and the baby monitor is in the bedroom. But NO, non of that woke up Joey. Or maybe he heard it and just ignored it! Hmm? The only thing left that did not go off was the dogs, and that's because they were laying in the bed with him!!!! What? They think they can jump in the bed, once I get up? I don't think so! Those naughty boys!

Baby Coos...

So a friend told me I should write this down...You know how a baby's first noises besides crying are called coos? Well, Samuel's are a little different. I call his caws. He sounds more like a crow, 'caw caw' or like a rapter from Jurassic Park, 'arrr, arrr'. It's not as funny in writing as it is orally, but it's still worth jotting down. He's a cutie!

Georgia!

Samuel went on his first road trip to Georgia. We drove 2 1/2 hours to Live Oak, FL to meet up with my mom and Del and hitched a ride with them the rest of the way. Samuel slept the whole time in the car and woke up to eat every time we stopped. It couldn't have been more perfect! He had lots of fun visiting with his aunts, uncles, and cousins. We can't wait till we can see them again!

Catch Up!

Well, I wanted to catch up writing and posting pictures of Samuel in order, but too much is happening to wait till I get to it. But now, Samuel is 11 weeks old and has started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks old. It has been great! I still have to get up early to pump, but it works for me! He is growing so big so fast!

Hospital Stay

The hospital stay was nice. All the nurses were great. My favorite was Emily my labor nurse. It was also really nice to see Jan, our birthing class instructor, even though she was never one of my nurses. The last night when they had to change me to nesting, that crew wasn't as friendly, but for the most part everyone was great. Here are some pictures from the hospital.

Labor and Delivery!

April 30th, Friday morning at 10:30am I had my Dr. appointment and was 70% effaced but not dialated at all. When we arrived at the hospital at 7pm the same day I was 4cm. An hour later I was already at 6cm. I think that is when I got the epidural. Around that time is a bit of a blur to me. After the epidural, even though the guy wasn't very nice, it immediately starting working and it was nice! Everything was relaxed. It was only me, Joey, Emily the labor nurse, and Missy my midwife in the room. I remember we were watching Pirates of the Carribean when I was at 9 1/2cm. But then I started feeling some major pressure! I didn't know this at the time, but I only pushed for a half hour. There was one push that made me think I couldn't do anymore! I thought, 'I can't do another one like that again!' But then everyone starting yelling at me to sit up. I was so confused. Then Missy told ME to pull him out! I sat up, saw his head completely out, grabbed him, he was slipping all over the place and I flopped back down! It truly is a miracle that this little human baby came out of me! The whole process of the creation of man that God designed is just breathtaking!
